Welcome to Colorado Casinos - CoCasinos

Colorado Cainsos resulted from the mid-1800s gold and silver mining boom days. Many of Colorado's mountain towns were once upon a time mining towns. Most of these towns were at high elevations, which were hard to get to and difficult to survive in. The advent of the narrow gauge train helped move ore out and people in, further stimulating the growth and development of these mining communities. The mining era in Colorado ended in the early 1900s, and with it, the mining communities suffered. Many prospectors transitioned to cattle ranching and other types of commerce. In 1990, voters overwhelmingly passed Amendment 4, which legalized "limited gaming," but only in the mountain towns of  Central City, Black Hawk, and Cripple Creek. Ute Tribes were also granted the ability to promote gambling via the IGRA Act of 1988.  Central City and Black Hawk are in the same general area and just over an hour's scenic drive west from Denver. Cripple Creek is a scenic drive west and just an hour from Colorado Springs. Ute Tribe Casinos are destination resorts in southwest Colorado, featuring many onsite amenities and surrounding attractions.
